Amanda Brugel

Tessa Tessa Amanda AmandaPointe Claire is a sleepy town on the island in Montreal known as the West Island. Most people do not know about the definition of the word as they believe that it's an independent Island to the west of Montreal. It is actually this part of Montreal is more than that. West Island includes the entire part of the island from Lachine until the west. The West Island is frequently referred to as the place where Amanda Brugel was born. Amanda Brugel, but while that is true it was not her home. Her time in the city was infrequent. Brugel began her life in Courtice close to Oshawa. The first goal she had was to become an experienced dancer. However, a growth rate meant that she outgrew the dancers she had with. In a piece in The Toronto Star she admitted, "In heels at 6' 1 inch. As soon as I reached the height of my male partners that I was dancing with, I quit. The majority of dancers who have been ex-dancers now turn into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was the nudge of a high school drama teacher that led her in the right direction. It was the teacher who recommended she pursue a role for the school's annual production. She tried it out and ended up as the leading female of Anne of Green Gables. This resulted in an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with her Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000.In the 20+ years since, Brugel has landed roles in over 60 shows on the big and small screens. Her most notable role attracted interest when she was offered the lead role of Rita on the award-winning series, The Handmaid's Tale
